FAQ's
Nutritional IV Therapy
Q: Getting IVs
A: Every person and situation are different.Depending on your condition, how many IVs, what nutrients used, and the frequency given will vary. For example, working to fix an auto-immune disease which would take several dozen IVs to overhaul the body is different than battling a common cold, which might only need one or two.
Q: Going Home After a Treatment
A: Your current state of health and the ability of your body to manage such aggressive treatment like an IV, also determines how you will feel post treatment.
Again, in the case of a severe cold, you can expect to feel accelerated healing, and the cold to last only for a day or two versus the usual 7-10 days. You will likely feel your symptoms subsiding within a few hours of getting an IV. Many patients report feeling better before finishing the IV treatment. You may experience an increase in energy and focus with a decrease in pain and discomfort.
Q: IV Treatment and Severe Conditions
A: If you are fortunate enough to have discovered Nutritional IV Therapy for a more severe condition like cancer, auto-immune or Lyme disease, then the healing process can be much more interesting and not as straightforward. Take comfort in knowing there is no limit to the benefits of Nutritional IV Therapy and your body will always be better for it.
If you are dealing with a serious condition, Nutritional IV Therapy will create and instigate changes that cannot come about any other way. Opposite of pharmaceuticals likely prescribed for your condition, Nutritional IV does not breakdown the natural ecosystem or biome of your body. It is very unlikely it will do damage to your system, and in fact, has enormous potential to be one of the best therapies that will eradicate your condition long-term. However, receiving dozens or even hundreds of Nutritional IV’s as you face this unfortunate health challenge may not come without its ups and downs.
Q: IVs and Your Immune System
A: Nutritional IV Therapy can engage and activate your immune system very rapidly, stimulating biological changes almost immediately, "stirring up" pathogens, toxins, viruses, etc., shocking the system after many years of suppression by a chronic condition. When this happens, it is possible to see positive changes, maybe small incremental changes, but change none-the-less. The changes can be more energy for a short period, a reduction in symptoms or even better sleep. Some patients describe it as if “the fog has lifted."
Note: we say "short period" or "short window" because when dealing with conditions that have been developing and worsening over a period of years, it is unrealistic to think one or two IV treatments will instantly change things long-term. However, any change is VERY encouraging, and with each short period of improvement, over and over, compounding and building, pretty soon you’ll start to see those improvements stick around much longer until it becomes your new normal.
Q: Other things to consider
A: Along with the positive changes, you will notice some challenges. Some challenges may even seem like setbacks. It's not always a straight, smooth road to healing. In fact, with chronic disease, it's unlikely. So part of healing is a battle of patience, perseverance, and consistency. If you do experience some adverse effects from an IV, such as a headache, joint pain, dizziness, nausea, weakness, or anything else significant, communicate with your doctor. Most of the time this is your body detoxing toxins. However, efficient communication will help make sure that you are on the best road to recovery.
Q: Will the protocol change?
A: Yes. Each IV bag can be tweaked or modified to be custom for you and your sensitivities, symptoms, and current needs. Trust your doctor to know what to do. Making sure to communicate exactly how you are feeling is important. In fact, keeping a journal or writing down how you feel after each IV would be helpful as well.
Q: Preparing for Treatment
A: Eat a balanced meal (including protein) in preparation for each IV will minimize the change in your blood sugar that may happen during treatment. Also, bringing a light snack and a form of hydration for the duration of the treatment works well.
Q: Post Treatment
A: As your body processes the ingredients in your IV, you may notice as light odor or unusual new color to your urine for a time.
You may also experience flu-like symptoms (i.e.excess mucous in your lungs, nose, and throat, some achiness, changes in your skin) which are an indication of detoxification. Your body’s primary detox organs are the kidneys, liver, colon, lungs, andskin. Notify your doctor if you do not have a bowel movement within 24 hours of an IV treatment.
Getting rid of dead or toxic waste and carnage advances you further on the path to good health and wellness. Drink plenty of water, as this will flush toxins more rapidly. Also, your doctor may give you some detoxing supplements. At home, one of the best ways to get relief from detoxing symptoms like fever, joint pain, and headache, is to take a ginger and Epson Salt bath. Rebounding and lymphatic massage can also alleviate detox symptoms quicker.
Listen to your body and rest. The most substantial healing occurs when you are sleeping.
